This is so great. Nice material and very clear-cut explanation about mixing. Thank you!
This is helpfull for knowing what it exactly is that what you would want to do while mixing.
Knowing what to do is benificial because any technical information on ‘how to’ can easily be found on the internet.
Knowing what to do and why to do so is extremely important to be able to make decisions and a mixing process is simply making a bunch of decisions.
Right on ! good job yes your are helping me to create the concept in of mixing in my head before i even touch my d.a.w. wow !! Rob thanks again for real…
Rob, you are really a great teacher, before I found you, my song making process was just make an instrumental that I have in my mind and immediately throw every effect on it, even in the master channel, and I never figured how is it that my song sounds like it was made in a washing machine. Now I am ready to redo all my stuff and become a magician, to be able to make the song sounding as it is in my mind, and also to have someone say when they listen to my end product, wow this sounds like a professional track. Thank you very much, I appreciate you effort a lot! Big Up to you!
This is exactly the tutorial I wanted to have to build up my base in mixing.. This is very clear and precise
thanks a lot.
Thanks Rob.. you’ve opend my ears :-)
That’s a great video, makes the mixing process a lot more limpid! Finding the right questions to ask when mixing AND learning to listen for specific aspects is a great method to follow, without necessarily follow a chart. Each mix having specific needs, it makes more sense to follow principles rather than a step by step process. Thank you very much!!
Great lesson. I’ve been mixing awhile, but never really thought about some of the things you mentioned, especially shaping. Yes, I totally understood muddy:) I Record my Bass, Guitar and Baritone Voice and get that muddy feeling, whereas I record my acoustic and voice and seems fine. Will be going back and work on shaping to improve. Thanks
This is incredibly helpful. You’re really clearing things up and establishing in my mind how to mix properly, as opposed to my previous scatter-brained approach. Thanks very much for your teaching videos, Rob.
You r the best Rob
This video has been very helpful in systematically explaining the thought process needed to ask the right mixing questions. By doing so, we gain theoretical understanding and apply feasible and rational answers or solutions. Your articulation is refreshing and well understood. Thank you very much. All the best!!
How can I thank you for this amazing and useful tutorial? It’s just more than awesome!
Wonderfully explained. I went in thinking this would be a bit basic for me, but you helped me realize that I need to respect the basics more in order to achieve better results. Thank you for your creation. God bless.
Thank you soo much. Super clear and just what I need.
Hey Rob – thank you for putting together. The explanation is extremely clear and relevant. Very interesting to frame the entire mixing process around asking the right questions and finding the right tools.

Actually insane to me that this information is free. You answered every question I had throughout the entire lecture. Thank you!
Thank you! Very clear and simple.
I am getting into music production, usually after I finish creating the tracks, I don’t really know how to make it sound professional, your tips are wonderful. Thank you very much for creating this material.
Thanks allot Rob, brought some clarity for sure!
Just started on the mix department and this is a great driving board for me to begin :)
