The Vocal Mini-Course

Vocals are the ‘centerpiece’ and main focal point of most songs, so it goes without saying that if you want world-class sounding tracks, the vocals must sound great.

What’s interesting, is that even the best vocalists in the world rely on ‘production magic’ to bring their vocals to life and make them command attention, even in tracks with lots of competing instruments.

So, how do you get great sounding vocals?

I’ll never forget the time a friend of mine asked me this same question;

How do the pros get those GREAT sounding vocals?? – Vocals that sound CLEAR, CRISP, FULL, and POWERFUL, all at once“.

I was studying sound engineering at the time at a good audio college, and I felt like a SHOULD know the answer to this… but I didn’t.

I was a little embarrassed and so I made up something along the lines of “Well, you need a really good mic and very expensive equipment…”

That was 10 years ago. Today, I can tell you that that isn’t true, but more importantly, I can tell you EXACTLY how to get GREAT sounding vocals in your tracks.
